I was shopping, something I do too much of, when I popped out of the store and saw this lovely view.

And here it comes.

Ich sitze auf den kühlen Fliesen am Beckenrand und blinzle in das gleißende Sonnenlicht. Um mich herum herrscht eine ungewohnte, fast magische Ruhe: Das Freibad ist fast komplett leer. Keine schreienden Kinder, keine Schlangen am Kiosk, nur das sanfte, gleichmäßige Plätschern des Wassers und das ferne Summen einer Biene. Das Wetter ist absolut wunderbar, kein einziger Fleck trübt den tiefblauen Himmel.Ich trage meinen schwarzen Lieblingsbikini, der perfekt zu den tiefschwarzen Tattoos passt, die sich wie feine Kunstwerke über meinen Arm und meine Schulter ziehen. Die dunklen Linien bilden einen harten, aber schönen Kontrast zu meinen kurzen, hellrosa gefärbten Haaren, die im Wind leicht aufgeweht werden. Ich genieße es, diese friedliche Oase ganz für mich allein zu haben.Langsam strecke ich mein rechtes Bein aus und lasse den Fuß ins Wasser gleiten. Die plötzliche Kälte auf der Haut lässt mich angenehm aufschrecken. Ich bewege den Fuß langsam vor und zurück, ziehe kleine Kreise und beobachte, wie sich das glitzernde, türkisfarbene Wasser des Schwimmbeckens um meine tätowierten Knöchel bricht. Während die Sonne meine Schultern wärmt, sorgt das kühle Nass an meinem Bein für die perfekte Erfrischung.

Ich bin die Stille zwischen den Schlägen einer alten Glocke, der Schatten, der niemals vergeht. Seit Jahrhunderten wache ich über diese verlassene Kathedrale, deren Mauern jedes Geheimnis kennen, das jemals ausgesprochen wurde. Die Dunkelheit, die mich umgibt, ist nicht mein Fluch – sie ist ein Teil von mir. Sie folgt jedem meiner Schritte, schützt mich vor der Welt und verbirgt die Narben, die niemand sehen soll.
