⚔️ Colosseum

Rules

Themed challenges decided by the community: your shot against another, one duel at a time, until one champion is left.

1. Taking part

Every member with a confirmed email address can enter, for free. Each challenge has a theme, a period for entries, and may be limited to one virtual world and to all-ages (or all-ages and Mature) shots; 18+ shots and AI images never take part. You enter with one of your own shots that is public and fits the challenge; you can change it or withdraw while entries are open. One entry per member per challenge.

2. Duels and rounds

When entries close, shots are paired at random in an elimination bracket. If the number of entries is not a power of two, some shots go straight through to the second round. Each round lasts the time shown on the challenge page; in every duel, the shot with more votes goes through. A tie goes to the shot with more likes, then to the earlier entry. Rounds continue until one shot is left: the champion. A challenge with fewer than two entries is cancelled.

3. Voting

Members with a confirmed email address and an account older than 24 hours can vote once per duel; a vote cannot be changed. You cannot vote in your own duel. Results are shown after you vote and when the duel ends. Sharing your duel and asking your friends and community to vote is welcome.

4. Fair play

Creating or using multiple accounts, buying or trading votes, bots, or any other way to fake votes is not allowed. We may remove votes, remove an entry (in a live duel the opponent goes through), disqualify members and suspend accounts involved. Entries that do not follow the theme, the Community guidelines or the Terms of Service may be removed at any time.

5. Prizes

The champion receives the Champion badge, the AvatarShot Pro time shown on the challenge page (added to any Pro time they already have) and is featured on AvatarShot and its official social channels with their name and shot. Every member who takes part in the duels receives the Gladiator badge. Prizes are personal, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money and have no cash value.

6. Your shot

Your shot must be your own work, made in a virtual world: images generated or substantially changed with generative AI cannot enter. If a shot is labelled as AI later, by you or by our team, it leaves the challenge (in a live duel the opponent goes through); finished challenges keep their results. You keep all rights to your shot. By entering, you allow AvatarShot to show it on the challenge pages and to share it, with credit to you, on AvatarShot’s official channels to promote the challenge and its result.

7. Teams

In team challenges, members join one team per challenge. The captain creates the team, invites members, accepts requests and enters one shot by any member of the team. Leaving the team takes your shot out with you; if the captain leaves, the team is disbanded. Every member of the winning team receives the prizes shown on the challenge page.

8. Survival

In Survival challenges every fighter stays in one arena. Each round, members vote once for the fighter they want to save; when the round ends, the shots with the lowest score (the share shown on the page, at least one) are eliminated. Ties go to the shot with more likes, then to the earlier entry. The last one standing is the champion.

9. Trials and powers

When a challenge uses trials, each round is a Crowd, Alliance or Betrayal trial. Every member who can vote may cast 1 power per round (3 with Pro): a power vote adds 2 points to the fighter you voted for; in a Betrayal trial, a fighter still in the challenge can take 2 points from a rival; in an Alliance trial, team members can add 2 points to their own team. Each power can be used once per fighter per round, powers are shown publicly, and a score never goes below zero.
