Delete your AvatarShot account
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This page explains how to delete your AvatarShot account (website and Android app) and the data associated with it.
Delete it yourself
- Sign in on avatarshot.com or in the AvatarShot app.
- Open your avatar menu → Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account, confirm with your password (or your username if you signed up with Google or Discord) and press Delete account.
Your account is hidden immediately (profile, shots and comments are no longer visible and nobody can message you) and it is erased for good 30 days later. We email you the date. If you change your mind, sign in again before then and the deletion is cancelled. After the 30 days it cannot be undone.
Just take a break
If you only want to step away, choose Deactivate account in Settings instead: everything is hidden in the same way but nothing is deleted, with no time limit. Sign in again whenever you want to come back.
Ask us to delete it
If you can’t sign in, send a request from the support page (topic “Privacy & my data”) or write to hello@avatarshot.com from the email address of your account, including your username. We verify that the request comes from the account owner and delete the account within 30 days.
Delete some of your data without deleting your account
You can remove individual pieces of data at any time, while keeping your account:
- Shots: open a shot → ⋯ menu → Delete shot. The images are deleted too.
- Comments: delete any of your comments from the shot page.
- Collections: My Collections → open a collection → Delete collection.
- Direct messages: unsend a message you sent, or clear a conversation from its ⋯ menu.
- Profile: in Settings, replace your avatar, remove your cover, clear your bio and links, or disconnect Google or Discord sign-in.
- Groups: leave a group, or remove your shots from it.
For any other data, ask us from the support page (topic “Privacy & my data”) or at hello@avatarshot.com: we handle it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile: username, name, email, password, avatar, cover, bio, links and settings.
- All your shots and their images, captions and tags, and your comments, likes, collections and follows.
- The direct messages you sent are erased from conversations.
- Groups you belong to no longer list you, and your shots leave them.
What is kept, and for how long
- During the 30 days after you ask for deletion your data is kept, hidden, so you can come back; then it is erased.
- Limited copies may remain in backups for a short period before they are overwritten.
- Closed support requests are kept for 24 months after they are closed, to handle follow-ups and disputes.
- If you had a Pro subscription, payment and invoice records are kept by us and our payment provider (Stripe) for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- If you give a reason for leaving, it is stored anonymously, with nothing that identifies you.
More details are in our Privacy Policy.
